Khatib & Alami is looking for a full-time Procurement Engineer to provide technical support and assist in preparing the procurement plan. The successful candidate will identify, review, and monitor priority, long lead, and other required materials and ensure proper coordination with other project disciplines to meet all procurement milestones dates. This position requires a thorough knowledge of procurement/materials practices, economic principles, international codes, standards, procedures, and specifications—preferred previous experience in the Middle East region associated with mega projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical support as required and assists in preparing the procurement plan.
- Identifies, reviews, and monitors priority, long lead, and other required materials.
- Ensures coordination with other project disciplines to meet all procurement milestones and dates.
- Has a thorough knowledge of procurement/materials practices, economic principles, international codes, standards, procedures, and specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Civil Engineering or another relevant degree.
- At least 15 years of experience, with at least ten years in the building industry and material procurement on large to mega building/architectural projects.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Experience with procurement software.
